Not actually a portrait of anyone, though I did use a mirror for reference. I mostly wanted to update this gallery with something, and since I recently got CS2, I thought I'd cook something up in Photoshop. This was part of a larger picture, but I liked the crop better.

So, since I am starting to get into photoshop too, what brush (size, type, etc.) are you using? I think I am using brushes that are too small, at the moment myself

Lots of brush sizes! I changed back and forth a lot while I painted, with the square bracket keys, so there wasn't one size for all of this, and any brush size I told you would depend on the resolution you're working at anyway.

I've been taught that it's a good idea to start as large as you are comfortable working (or maybe a bit larger, if you find yourself too attached to the small brushes) and only use smaller brushes as it becomes necessary. That's most efficient, and has the bonus effect of making you focus on the overall form before you get too bogged down in details.
